Precious Year

My dear sweet Megan is such a joy.  I can hardly believe it has been a full year since her birth!  I just wish that I could capture time in a bottle sometimes. Our precious little miracle, Megan.

We were filled with awe and disbelief again at the process of watching her birth!  We were able to cheer on Kristen and celebrate upon Megan’s entrance into this world.  What a privilege and joy!

Moments old! Megan, mom and dad’s first picture.

After we received the blessing of our sweet Shiloh, we were pretty sure that our family was just about perfect.  Always open to whatever blessings of children that the Lord would grant, (but, pretty sure that we were not going to “pursue” adoption through an agency again).  Little did we know that God had different plans and would bring a baby to us in a way.  =)  He is good like that!  As soon as we knew about this precious life,…we began praying for this child.  This was before there was any possible connection to our family even.  Amazing how God works sometimes.  Life is so PRECIOUS!  Daily we, and our four children prayed for this child!  Little did we know that she would one day be part of our FOREVER family!

Walking through the adoption process is both heart wrenching and amazing at the same time.  (I am sure that birth mom would say the same thing.)  So many emotions, so many what if’s, so many uncertainties.  You hope and prepare, and yet, you also hold to the knowledge that things may not go as you think they will.  It is SUCH a crazy, awesome, God trusting experience.  And while each story and circumstances of adoption are different, I would venture to guess that many adoptive parents and birth parents feel those hard, incredible emotions on the roller coaster of this process.  The journey was a challenge, but it was a beautiful, joyful event for us.

Precious Smile!

So many amazing things have happened during this year.  We have learned to depend on the Lord’s grace and favor in new ways, survived many, many sleepless nights, enjoy the treasure of watching a little one grow and develop, and learned to love more than we thought possible!  Praising the Lord for our little precious, miracle today!
