Fundraiser Friday (2-17-12)

Jersey signed from our cousin Jennie Finch.

Great music!

Yummy Treats!

I suppose it is time to get started on Fundraiser Friday updates now that the fundraiser is only about 8 weeks away.  Things have been very, very, VERY busy here.  God has been faithful in providing, strength, encouragement and people to come alongside.  This is a huge undertaking, and one that is bathed in much prayer, but comes with MUCH WORK!!  God’s power is the only way that this fundraiser will be accomplished.

Some people have asked what our specific needs are.  So here goes.

*Prayer.  This is the top of our list!  We know that nothing is possible apart from God’s hand.  We pray that God would bless our efforts, that He would be glorified in all that we say and do.  We are praying that God would bring the right people to help, to give, and to buy at Rachel’s Raise of Hope!

*We are still looking for t-shirt sponsors.  We have 3 and possibly 4 now, but are still looking to add at least another 4 on the back of the shirts. If you know of a business or contact that might be interested in doing some advertising on the back of the shirts, and donating to a great cause please pass along their name to us jcleadsus@msn.com.  These shirts will be sold at the event, (maybe shown on t.v, if I can get them done early enough to promote in a quick interview) and worn at the Great Strides walk in May.

*Spread the word!!!  Tell everyone you know to come!!  Church, small groups, sports teams, school, work, family members.  I have flyers that I can either send you via email, or can get you some hard copies as well.

*Creative, Fun, Baskets  Baskets are a fun way to generate excitement, and interest in bidding at the auction.  Plus the baskets raise a lot of money and are really fun. I have a list of ideas that might get your creativity going.

*If I may caution, try to get sales on items used for a baskets.  If you spend more making a basket than someone is willing to pay (and we usually start the bid at about 50% of retail value), it might be better to just give a straight out donation, or come ready to spend lots of money on other terrific deals!

**However, I know that some of you are amazing at finding great inexpensive items and then presenting them in a way that makes them look fabulous!!

*Bake Sale Items Who doesn’t’ like sweet treats?  The bake sale was a lot of fun last year.  If you can bake a dozen cookies, pie, or cake for Rachel’s Raise of Hope we would be very grateful!  Please let me know and I will add you to our list!

*People to come help the night of the event.  If you are able to help in any capacity please feel free to email me jcleadsus@msn.com and I will put you on the list.

*Someone to help with kid type activities for the night!  Not sure what this looks like yet.  A few simple carnival games, crafts, something to keep the “littles” entertained.

*Decorations This is very, very, very far outside my ability. =) I have no decorating abilities.

*Donate  Last, but certainly not the least, please consider a donation.  You can DONATE EASILY HERE!!  http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/PaulAndTiffanyLeaders  EVERY-DOLLAR-COUNTS!!!  The research is extremely expensive.  But, knowing that every dollar adds up to the amount needed to change a life and a future is huge.  Your money is buying that future for Rachel and the many others with CF!

Thank you again for the many that have helped already.  You are a blessing to us!!  Paul and I keep thinking that maybe, just maybe the cure will come very soon!  Trials are being funded now by the money that we raised last year!  We know that this cure is coming…just maybe the money raised this year will bring it!  We know that it is because of the love of you!

Care of Friends!= CURE FOUND!
