T-Shirt Challenge/Contest

Rachel's Raise of Hope. It was a bit chilly for our Great Strides walk this year. The shirts had to go over the winter coat...in May.

OUR TEAM 2011!! Rachel's Raise of Hope!!

Okay, most of you already know that we are in full swing of fundraising for our Rachel’s Raise of Hope auction and dinner event.  It is a crazy, awesome time around our home.  It is a lot of work, but the joy and encouragement from knowing that others care about our fight is beyond uplifting, and helps to strengthen our resolve to fight this disease and WIN!!!

One of the tasks that I find particularly challenging each year is the designing of the team t-shirts.  I absolutely LOVE having a shirt that represents the support and unity of friends and family for Rachel’s life, fight and future!  It truly blesses my soul.  However, I must also admit the hours and hours that it takes to get a design that is even somewhat descent is maddening.  So this year I received  the great advice to have a “design contest”.  I know that I have some very bright and creative friends that could design an amazing shirt for Rachel’s Raise of Hope shirts this year.  This would be a fun and memorable way to help in our fight.  Our shirts have been a great joy, and almost every day I see a friend or family member wearing one of our shirts from years past.

There are a few basic but important rules that we ask you to follow:

1)  All submissions must be in .eps or .png file format.  The printing company needs to be able to access one of these files  (.jpeg will not work).  If you are not sure google it (and if you absolutely have an amazing design, not in that format email me anyway).

2)  All submissions must have the words -Rachel’s Raise of Hope and Cure Cystic Fibrosis on it.

3)  All submissions must be EMAILED to jcleadsus@msn.com no later than FEBRUARY 20th.

4)  One person may enter as many submissions as they’s like.

Paul and Tiffany will decide the winner sometime the week of February the 20th.  We will need about 4 weeks in order to send the design in and be able to receive the shirts in time for the Rachel’s Raise of Hope auction on April 13, 2012.  The winner will receive a HUGE “thank you” on our blog, as well as a special gift from Paul, Rachel and I.

I will post a few pictures from our shirts from the last couple of years.  A few tips to keep in mind:

1) Keep it simple.  WE want people to see the shirt and read and understand what it says without getting too distracted by an overload of design or art work.

2)  Keep it original. Make the design your own, with out “borrowing” any pre-fab designs from other people (there are some great “help” t-shirt sites though).

3)  The base shirt color is going to be red this year.  Try to keep the writing to 2 colors (the background of the shirt can show through and count as a third layer/color).

4)  We will hopefully have several sponsors on the back again this year, so the area on the back is limited to the very top or the very bottom.

Last thing, even if you can’t attend our dinner/auction or the Great Strides walk, but you would love to receive your own “Rachel’s Raise of Hope” t-shirt, please leave me a message on the blog or email me.  We will make sure you get one!

So very excited to see what you come up with.  It should be a lot of fun.  Thank you in advance for helping us raise awareness and support for Cystic Fibrosis!!  If you have any questions, please let me know by contacting me at jcleadsus@msn.com

Thank you!!
