Wow! What a Weekend!

This is going to be one of those “no-no’s” in the blog world.  The kind that is random, busy, and all over the place.  With good reason though…that is exactly how the last week has been for our family. =)

To start with our computer had a virus.  (Mac’s aren’t suppose to get viruses???) Our main computer was down for almost a week before we could get someone to come and look at it.

Last week we had my nephews 15th birthday!  Wow, can hardly believe that he is that old already.  I was there the moment that he took his first breath…what a joy and blessing he has been to our life. So thankful for the gift of his life.

Rachel getting Jacob to smile that beautiful smile!

**Aunt Evelyn (one of my mom’s dear friends) was in town for a couple of days.  The kids LOVED that.  They couldn’t get enough of telling and showing her all of the fun, sweet cute things that they could think of.  She of course helped the situation out with lots of smiles, laughter and cheers.  It was a joy to have her here for a few days.

*** Homeschool Track and Field Day-

The kids had a blast participating in this event this year.  They all performed very well, and hopefully brought glory to God in and through their talents and efforts.

Ready for flight!

Look at him go!

Fast feet. Loving every minute of it!

Caleb came home with the most ribbons and was quite thrilled.  He worked so hard.

Working to get to the front of the pack.

Way to go, Big guy!

Nathan came home with a first place (baseball throw, no surprise as much as he loves to play any sport).

Getting ready to R.U.N!!!

Off she goes.

Face of determination.

Sweet Rachel brought a lump to my throat.  Beautiful smiles, great joy, running and trying her best.  At one point she ran a 200 (halfway around the track) and I literally had tears spring to the surface thinking about what a joy and privilege that her lungs are strong enough to run.  She gets winded easy sometimes, but doesn’t let it stop her.  She just breathes a bit harder and smiles a bit bigger.  BLESSING FROM ABOVE!

So sad!

Good thing for Papa saving the day!

Poor Shiloh, she didn’t not like ANY part of the track day!  She cried when standing at the starting line.  She wouldn’t run…little stinkier.  She was for sure one of the faster 3 year olds there.  Maybe next year!

Overall it was a great day.  The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm.  The competition great!  Time together with family is always a blessing.

***SUNDAY brought an another amazing blessing.  There was a benefit with the Nebraska Panthers and the police department.  Half of the proceeds were to benefit Rachel’s Raise of Hope.  We were so honored and thrilled with the kindness from the football players and other people that made this possible.  Rachel thought it was pretty awesome too!

Stacy, the woman that started the whole process for this fundraiser. We are so blessed by her kindness and thoughtfulness.

**Baseball!  We signed the kiddos up for baseball.  WHAT WAS I THINKING!!  Busy, busy, and more busy!!!  The boys are on the same team, and thrilled that they get to play.  Rachel is also going to play t-ball this year.  She is super excited!

***We got an early morning wake up call at about 3am with our van getting crashed into by a drunk driver.  He went on to hit 5 cars total plus his own!  Before parking his jeep in the middle of the street.  Paul went after him, and detained him while we waited for the police to come.  It was an all too exciting and not too fun morning experience.  Now to go and get our van fixed#?#?# Bummer.  But as we try to remember with all of our things…it is God’s to start with.  We are just the managers.  So, not sure why God wanted to allow a dent in his van, but there is a purpose in all that He allows!  Thankful that noone else was hurt.  The way he was driving was really scary.

There are more event from this crazy week, but for now, I must get to making dinner.  Sometimes it is fun to just journal a few of the crazy things that go on in our home and family.  Already, some of the events feel like a lifetime ago.=)   It is good to give praise for the many good and wonderful blessings that the Lord provides daily.  So, as we are in the midst of another busy week, I will give thanks for His goodness, grace and love today!
