Fundraising Friday Update 3-11-11

Whew!!!!  IT has been another whirlwind of a week on the fundraising front.  It continues to amaze me.  The helpfulness and generosity of others- it is truly an encouragement straight from Heaven.

Bake Sale There is a sweet boy in our homeschool community that is organizing the bake sale for our spaghetti dinner.  If you would like to bake something, and package to sell, please let me know.  I will pass on helpers to him.

T-Shirts- Absolutely dumbfounded at the response to sponsor our t-shirts.  This has been a great blessing and encouragement to see businesses interested in supporting our cause in this capacity.  We only have about 3 spots left available for businesses.  Praise the Lord!  That is really exciting.  Our shirt design and logos go to the printer next Friday.  It will be fun to see what the final product looks like.

Auction Items – The items are coming in slow and steady.  (My brother-in-law continues to be the mover and shaker in this area!!  He is doing an awesome job!)  We have a ton of gift cards, which is great, but we are still in need of baskets, and items to “LOOK AT”.  The value of the gift card isn’t going to exceed the value that someone would pay.  However, I know that some of our friends are very talented and could put together some amazing baskets.  If you would like to help in this capacity, please let us know.  We are trying to gather all items and baskets on or before March 27th so we can start figuring out how to group things. (Of course we will take items and baskets right up to the event on April 8, but would much prefer having the time to make signs and promote your item.)  Thank you in advance for helping.

These are NOT from our auction, but we are really hoping to get some great baskets ("Eye Candy as we have been referring to it".)

Food- This continues to feel like the wild card in this event.  It is hard to know how much to prepare.  We have a lot of inquireres out concerning the food, but there are still so many unknowns.  Preparing the food, amounts, remainder of the donations to go and get???  Unfortunately some of these questions will have to be answered closer to the event.  (Wish we could cook and store spaghetti a month in advance=).)

Prayers- We continue to be blessed by the people that have shown us love and support… friends, family, and complete strangers!  Please pray that we would continually be aware of the bigger purposes of our life and this event.  Loving people, and pointing them toward the Savior.  In reading the story of Daniel this week, I was intensely reminded that sometimes the Lord allows us to be in a really difficult spot (battling Cystic Fibrosis) in order to bring glory to Himself.  Daniel was in the LION’S DEN with destruction and demise all around, and yet God used that position to bring the good news to every tongue, nation, and people of Daniels age.  King Nebuchadnezzar may have never listened to Daniel or cared about His God, until He saw that His God was powerful and cared about Daniel.  This story really touched my heart.  I know that the Lord cares for our needs!  He has been so very faithful day after day to our family.  Although CF is emotional, physically and spiritually taxing, God walks close by us.  In stepping out in faith with this fundraiser (and life), others are able to see the goodness of the Lord through the Lion’s Den of our circumstances.  He is good, and all of His ways are perfect.  We know others are praying…we can feel the strength!  Excited to see the bigness of our God in these everyday moments!

Have a blessed day!  Thank you for the help, love and support.
