Mom Can’t Get Sick

The last week at our house has been a chorus of coughing kiddos.  Sometimes it is almost humorous, because it really does sound like an odd symphony of different types of coughs.  However, God has been gracious thus far.  Every time I think I might be starting to get sick…I have had energy and health restored.  God is so very good, and He knows what we can and can not handle.  I am thankful that I serve a God that understands our limits, while ever gently pushing us toward them at times, He does KNOW what we can handle because HE MADE US!

Mom can’t get sick.  I know the mom’s out there understand this saying quite well, because even if we are sick, we still have to do the tasks required to keep our house running.  This last week I have been militant about washing my hands, and being even more conscious of germs (if that is possible).  In our house, it is typical that once Rachel is sick the stress to keep everyone out of each others face and clear of one another diminishes a great deal.  The rest of us just have to muddle through colds and sickness with it usually not being a big deal.  (Except dad’s, there is something about a “man cold” that has cracked me up for years!  And yet, dad is the one that is eating after the kids, and sharing things with them…ugg!)  However, mom is a different story.  If mom is sick…the house goes haywire.  I am praying today that the Lord will continue to grace me with rest and health despite the sickness all around.  Kiddos are all starting to feel better, but still have a little ways to go.  God is able!
